Resort Report – Mar 2023

The year is well and truly underway, and it has been a busy time for our Property Development team as they gear up to kick off the refurbishment calendar after Easter.

This Resort Report will give you a taste of the projects you can look forward to this year, while also providing information about new inventory added to the club and some Associate Resort extended terms.

We are pleased to confirm that, during March, the following inventory became available for owners to book in Club Wyndham South Pacific: Club Wyndham Airlie Beach
  • 1 x 3-bedroom Presidential apartment (previously advised in February)
Club Wyndham Phillip Island
  • 1 x 2-bedroom Deluxe
  • 1 x 3-bedroom Grand
The 2-bedroom Deluxe at Club Wyndham Phillip Island had previously been available to owners to book through an Associate Resort agreement with the club Developer, Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific. Existing reservations will not be affected by its introduction to the club.

Three Associate Resort agreements have been extended over the course of March, meaning owners can continue to enjoy an alternate location in Perth, Orewa and the Bay of Islands on New Zealand’s east coast. Ramada by Wyndham VetroBlu Scarborough Located in the heart of the beachside village of Scarborough, in Perth, Ramada VetroBlu Scarborough is the perfect blend of seaside experience and city escape. The hotel offers a pool, free Wi-Fi in common spaces, café and restaurant. The Associate Resort program now includes more inventory: 2 x 1-bedroom and 2 x 2-bedroom business apartments, an increase on the last agreement of one apartment in each category. Ramada Suites by Wyndham Nautilus Orewa A go-to holiday spot for many Kiwis, Orewa offers a surf break for all levels, fantastic long beach, cool water, quality restaurants, bars and cafés, along with cycling and hiking trails. It’s easy to see why this accessible area is so popular! The hotel offers complimentary parking, complimentary Wi-Fi, outdoor heated pool, sauna, fitness centre and two restaurants onsite. Premier owners can access one room in two categories: Deluxe Studio apartment and OnePlus Garden View apartment. Copthorne Hotels & Resorts Bay of Islands One of New Zealand’s best holiday spots, the Bay of Islands is the perfect place to relax or explore. Discover the wide bay and the secret inlets and coves around the offshore islands, or immerse yourself in the history of New Zealand at one of country’s most significant spots. The resort features complimentary Wi-Fi, outdoor heated swimming pool, heated children’s pool, outdoor spa, tennis court and day spa. Premier owners can book a standard garden view room and a superior sea view room through the Associate Resort program.

At this point, Ramada by Wyndham Wellington Taranaki Street will not be extended beyond the agreement’s end date of 31 March, 2023 and Ramada by Wyndham Queenstown Central will not be extended beyond the agreement’s end date of August 31, 2023. However, our teams are working on new locations behind the scenes and look forward to making an announcement soon. Associate Resorts are a benefit provided to Premier owners by the Developer, Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific, which enters into fixed-term agreements with the management of each resort featured in the program. These agreements can be renewed or terminated at the discretion of the Developer or the management and are not guaranteed to continue year-to-year.
Work will re-commence shortly on three property refurbishment projects scheduled to end this year:
  • The refurbishment of the remaining 42 apartments of Club Wyndham Dunsborough will recommence in the coming weeks
  • The second part of the Club Wyndham Melbourne refurbishment is scheduled for April to July this year
  • Works on the remaining 38 apartments that are part of the Club Wyndham Golden Beach refurbishment will be undertaken this year, beginning in May.

Refurb in progress: Club Wyndham Dunsborough Studio Deluxe and Club Wyndham Golden Beach 1-bedroom living area

A refurbishment project has begun on Club Wyndham South Pacific’s 155 rooms in Club Wyndham Denarau Island this year. Some apartments underwent updates during the COVID-19 closure so the work across the resort will vary from touch-ups and repainting in some apartments to soft refurbishments including fresh paint, new furniture and soft furnishings, and some minor bathroom work, in others. Contractors are expected to complete works on an average of four apartments per week and are anticipated to finish up around the end of the year. The 44 WorldMark, The Club rooms at the resort will also be updated over the course of this time. The timing of these refurbishments mean that minimal rooms are taken from the inventory pool at any one time and the works will not interfere with owners’ enjoyment of the resort. The refurbishment of Club Wyndham Kirra Beach’s apartments is slated to start next month. This soft refurbishment will involve a new interior design, with fresh bedding, furnishings, soft furnishings and artwork. The carpet will be replaced with a custom Axminster carpet. New vanities will also be installed in some bathrooms. Club Wyndham Wanaka and Club Wyndham Rotorua are currently scheduled to start their room refurbishment programs later in the year and a refurbishment will begin at Club Wyndham Marcoola Beach in quarter four. We will provide more details on those projects closer to the date as they may be subject to change depending on various factors including weather, contractor and supply availability.
The team at Club Wyndham Seven Mile Beach have taken the popular hobby farm to the next level! Owners can now take one of our resident alpacas for a walk around the property to mark special occasions. Bookings should be made at reception. The resort offers daily tours of the hobby farm, which features the popular South American mammals with cows, miniature goats and chickens.
The times for next month’s Owners’ Meet and Greets have been finalised.
